Rauhnacht Ritual "13 Wishes" — Limited Edition

The Rauhnächte (Rough Nights or Holy Nights) are the twelve nights between the end of the old year and the new year, a magical time full of traditions. They have been known since the 15th century as moments of reflection and transition. It is said that during these nights, dreams are particularly intense and full of meaning – perfect for letting go of the old and manifesting the new.

Preparation

Between December 21st (Winter Solstice) and Christmas Eve, write 13 wishes for the new year on 13 slips of paper. Phrase them as if they have already come true, e.g., "I am healthy and full of energy." Optionally, you can record the wishes in a notebook to track their fulfillment later. Fold each slip of paper so the wish is no longer visible and place them back into the calcite bowl.

Starting the Ritual

On the evening of December 24th, burn your first slip of paper: Draw a slip, without opening it, place it on the brass holder, and light it (the lid of the calcite bowl makes the perfect fireproof coaster).

In the flame, you can now also light the bay leaf and let it smolder (or place a small piece of the bay leaf directly with the slip of paper), a mini-smudging ritual for manifestation. Focus on your wish coming true in January.

Repeat the ritual on the following 11 evenings. Each burned wish represents one month of the new year: The second slip for February, the third for March, and so on.

The Last Wish

After 12 nights, one slip of paper remains. Only this one may be opened: It represents the goal that you will fulfill yourself in the new year. Often, it is the wish that challenges you the most – and at the same time allows you to grow the strongest.

The ritual invites you to consciously reflect, let go, and start the new year with confidence.
